University College of Engineering Tindivanam saw its beginning four years ago. An institution who has developed its own standards and incorporated the caliber in it. Although it is a newly established college but an institute that is aimed high on goals and engraving its success. It offers higher education in engineering, technology and allied sciences relevant to the current and projected needs of the society. Besides promoting research and disseminating knowledge gained therefrom, it fosters cooperation between the academic and industrial communication. The prowess of an institution depends on the pillars and the pillars being the faculty and the students.

                                                                                                                          

Department:

 

               Department of Computer Science and Engineering was established in University College of Engineering in Tindivanam in the year 2008 with the objective of imparting quality education in the field of Computer Science. With rapidly evolving technology and the continuous need for innovation, the department has always produced quality professionals holding important positions in Software industry and Banking sector in India and Abroad. The department has started B.E. Computer Science and Engineering course in the year 2008 with the aim to develop core competence in Computer Science and Engineering and prepare the students to carry out programming development work as well as to take up the challenges of research work.

 

               Initially the department has started with 60 student’s intake to mould them to meet the real changes of software Industry. Learning does not end in the classroom; it goes beyond into laboratory to provide real time learning by the way of doing programming activities, project works in the department. In order to provide real-time learning, the department is fully furnished with two laboratories consisting of 60 high configuration computers with specialized servers in each laboratory. Moreover all the computers are fully connected in the LAN network that provides 8 mbps Leased Line Internet connection.

 

Extra-Curricular Activities:

 

                     To improve students’ knowledge level the department conducts intra and inter college symposium every year through the technical association CETA (Computer Experts Technical Association) The department has well qualified and experienced faculty members to drive the students to meet requirements of ever- changing world of Computer Software Engineers.

 

                      In order to motivate and train the faculty members, the department also conducts FDP (Faculty Development Programme) frequently. The students are taken for industrial visits to many of the software companies in and around Chennai, Cochin, Delhi and Goa. The faculty members also encouraged the students to participate and attend seminars, conferences and paper presentations conducted by various  colleges.
